Meet the Artist

I’m Jordan Jackal, a tattoo artist based in Austin, Texas. I started tattooing in 2005 in Bowling Green, Ohio, when I was 18, and I’ve been at it ever since. Over the years, my work has taken me all over — from Boulder’s famous Pearl Street to Durham, North Carolina, and Fulton, Kentucky — before I found my home here in Austin in 2010.

I’ve been an artist my whole life, and tattooing has always been my way of telling stories through skin and ink. I’ve managed shops, taught artists, and now co-own Noble Jackals Tattoo, a co-op studio in South Austin that I helped build with some of my closest friends.

My clients have included people from all walks of life — from everyday folks to well-known names like Thom Sonny Green of Alt-J, actor Chris Zylka and Super Bowl champion Marcus Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles. My artwork also lives beyond the tattoo world — I’ve painted murals on South Lamar (including the side of Mom’s Tattoos) and created custom designs for food trucks, karaoke bars, and small businesses around Austin.

I’m versatile in all styles and there’s nothing I don’t enjoy tattooing. Whether it’s black and gray, bold color work, or something completely out of the box, I’m always up for a challenge and dedicated to making every tattoo something that truly represents the person wearing it.
